The E.J. Viewer (Electronic Journal Viewer) lets you look up details of individual POS transactions of the last 7 days for a store. The data found through this page can be used to troubleshoot balancing issues and understand how menu items are accounted for in CLEARVIEW.

E.J. Viewer is only available if the POS system Point Of Sale system - the system/register used to bill customers and track sales. used by your organization supports the transmission of live data.

The information in this report includes data received from your POS system Point Of Sale system - the system/register used to bill customers and track sales. only.

TO VIEW THE DETAILS OF A POS TRANSACTION:

  1. Open the E.J. Viewer page.

  2. Select the Area* and Store for which you want to view the transaction(s) from the drop-down list(s).

  3. Enter the search parameters to look up the transaction(s):

    At least one of the search parameters must be selected or filled in.

    • Enter the Receipt # if you know it.

    • Enter the name or part of the name of a menu item included in the receipt in Item Name.

    • Select the Order Total constraint that you'd like to apply to the transactions report from the drop-down list, if required, and enter the amount in the box(es) next to it.

      • Greater Than: Only transactions with the total amount higher than the value entered will be included in the report.

      • Less Than: Only transactions with the total amount less than the value entered will be included in the report.

      • Equal to: Only transactions with the total amount equal to the value entered will be included in the report.

      • Between: Only transactions with the total amount between the two values entered will be included in the report.

    • Select the Status of the transaction(s) that you want to view from the drop-down list.

    • Select the start of the period for which you want to generate the transaction report from the Period From drop-down calendar and enter the time.

    • Select the end of the period for which you want to generate the transaction report from the Period To drop-down calendar and enter the time.

    • Select the service mode For example: dine-in, take-out, delivery. for the transaction from the Destination drop-down list.

    • Select the register at which the transaction was recorded from the Station drop-down list.

    • Select the Cashier that recorded the transaction from the drop-down list.

    • Select the mode of payment used to pay for the transaction from the Tender Type drop-down list.

    • Enter the product ID of a menu item included in the transaction in Clearview ID.

  4. Click on the Produce Report button.

The following information is displayed in the report for the Area* and Store selected, based on the constraints selected when producing it:

  • Time: The date and time Unless specified otherwise, the date and time will always show in the user's local time. at which the transaction was recorded on the POS system.

    Transactions are only available for the past 7 days.

    For older transactions you will have to contact your POS vendor.

  • Receipt #: The receipt number of the transaction.

  • Amount: The grand total of all the items in the transaction after adjusting for cancelled items and adding tax.

  • Order Point: How the order was placed (for example: drive thru, counter, online).

  • Destination: The service mode For example: dine-in, take-out, delivery. for the transaction.

  • Status:

    • Void: The transaction was a voided a transaction.

    • Refund: The transaction was a refund.

    • Cancelled: The transaction was cancelled.

  • Station: The register at which the transaction was recorded.

  • Cashier: The cashier that recorded in the transaction.

Report links:

  • Clicking on a link in the Receipt# column will open the Transaction Detail page for the receipt/transaction.

The Transaction Detail page displays the following information:
