Deduction Categories are reductions (like discounts and combo offers) offered to your customers. This page controls the deduction categories that your organization offers.

To access Deduction Categories settings:

  1. Click on on the quick links Located at the top right corner of a page, it contains icons that allow you to quickly access important pages. bar from any page.

  2. In the Settings window:

    Settings associated to a page automatically show in the List box. If the setting that you want to access is in the List box, you can skip step a.

    1. Select Financial from the Filter drop-down list.

    2. Click on Deduction Categories from the List box in the left pane.

Deduction Categories are usually transferred from your POS system Point Of Sale system - the system/register used to bill customers and track sales. and except for rare instances, you won't need to manually create deduction categories in CLEARVIEW.

  1. Go to Deduction Categories settings.

  2. Click on the Create button.

  3. In the Create Deduction Category window:

    1. Enter the name of the category you want to create in Description.

    2. Select the Type of deduction from the drop-down list.

    3. Enter the POS system Point Of Sale system - the system/register used to bill customers and track sales. code for the category being created in Deduction Number on POS.

    4. Click on the Create button.

  1. Go to Deduction Categories settings.

  2. Use the filter Drop-down boxes that let you select from the options available. at the top of the page to narrow down the categories if required.

  3. Click on the name of the category that you want to edit.

  4. In the Update Deduction Category window:

    1. Change the details as required.

    2. Click on the Update button.

If you don't want a certain category accessible to users in your organization at present, you can deactivate it by changing the Status to Inactive. You can similarly reactivate it by changing the Status to Active if and when you start using it.

  1. Go to Deduction Categories settings.

  2. Use the filter Drop-down boxes that let you select from the options available. at the top of the page to narrow down the categories if required.

  3. Click on the name of the category that you want to delete.

  4. In the Update Deduction Category window:

    1. Click on the Delete button.

    2. Click on the OK button in the confirmation request pop-up box A box with a prompt that opens up when you click certain links or buttons in Clearview..

Only categories that aren't mapped to recorded deductions can be deleted.
