Employee Numbers lets you select how employee numbers are created in CLEARVIEW and determine the constraints for auto generated employee numbers.

To access Employee Numbers settings:

  1. Click on on the quick links Located at the top right corner of a page, it contains icons that allow you to quickly access important pages. bar from any page.

  2. In the Settings window:

    Settings associated to a page automatically show in the List box. If the setting that you want to access is in the List box, you can skip step a.

    1. Select Labour from the Filter drop-down list.

    2. Click on Employee Numbers from the List box in the left pane.

  1. Go to Employee Numbers settings.

  2. Select No from the Auto Generate Employee No. drop-down list to manually enter employee numbers for each new employee created, or Yes to have CLEARVIEW generate the number automatically.

    1. Enter the smallest number that can be assigned as an employee number in Minimum Employee No.*

    2. Enter the largest number that can be assigned as an employee number in Maximum Employee No.*

    3. Enter the number that each subsequent employee number must be increased by in Auto Generate Employee No.*.

    4. Select Yes from the Employee Number Cycle* drop-down list to automatically use unused or missed employee numbers once the maximum employee number is reached, or No to prevent this.

    • The Employee Number field in the Basic tab cannot be edited if the Auto Generate Employee No. is set to Yes.

    • An error message will be displayed when creating an employee if there are no more valid numbers to use. In such a situation, the controls on this page will have to be revised before any additional employees can be created.

  3. Select the Employee Number Scope from the drop-down list:

    • Organization will ensure that employee numbers are not repeated at all.

    • Reporting Store will ensure that employee numbers are unique within the store.

    • Payroll Employer Grouping will ensure that employee numbers are unique within the payroll group.

ClosedView Changes made to Employee Numbers Controls

  1. Go to Employee Numbers settings.

  2. Click on the Audit button to see all changes made to the control(s) on the page. Changes that were made to the control(s) will be listed in a table.
