The Hourly Labour Cost report lets you view your sales (number of transactions and value of sales) and labour cost for the period selected, broken-down by different periods (hourly, half-hourly or parts) of the day. You can also use this page to compare your hourly labour costs with previous periods.

The information in this report is compiled from sales data received from your POS system Point Of Sale system - the system/register used to bill customers and track sales., time card data received by CLEARVIEW as well as data entered via the Daily Entry pages.

TO VIEW AN HOURLY LABOUR COST REPORT:

  1. Open the Hourly Labour Cost page.

  2. Select the Area* and Store for which you want to view the report from the drop-down list(s).

  3. Select the Period for which you want to view the report from the drop-down list.

    ~~~ Live ~~~* is available as an option only for individual stores if the POS system Point Of Sale system - the system/register used to bill customers and track sales. used by your organization supports the transmission of live data.

    ~~~ Live ~~~* will display the data starting from the last end of day Completion of end of day tasks on the POS which results in EOD markers sent to Clearview. to the time the report was generated. Click on local time zone at the bottom of the page to see the time zone used for the report.

    For employees currently working, the labour costs are calculated from the time at which the employees clocked-in The recorded time at which an employee started work. to the time at which the report was generated.

  4. Select the specifics of the period* (Date*, Term*, Year*, Week*, Week Ending*, Month*, From*, To*) from the drop-down list(s).

  5. If you would like to compare the data to an earlier period, select the Comparison Period from the drop-down list.

    The Comparison Period filter Drop-down boxes that let you select from the options available. is not available if you're in the Chart tab.

  6. Select the Compare From* and Compare To* dates from the drop-down calendars.

  7. Click on the Go button.

  8. Select the type of periods for which you want to view the report from the Show information in ___ increments drop-down list.

Detail

The following information is displayed in the Detail tab for the Area*, Store and Period selected using the filters Drop-down boxes that let you select from the options available. at the top of the page, if the Comparison Period is Not Selected:

  • From: The start of the time period for which the information is displayed.

  • To: The end of the time period for which the information is displayed.

  • Transactions: The number of transactions recorded for the period.

  • Sales: The total sales amount recorded for the period.

    Where sales is Adjusted Gross or Net Sales, determined by the POS Period Sales Method.

  • Hours: The number of clocked labour hours for the period.

  • SPLH: The sales per labour hour for the period.

    SPLH = Sales / Hours

  • CPLH: The customers serviced per labour hour for the period.

    CPLH = Transactions / Hours

  • Labour Cost: The cost of the total number of clocked labour hours. It is calculated using the wage rate paid to each employee that worked during the period, the number of hours worked by each employee during the period, and the type of time card clocked during the period.

  • Labour %: The percentage of sales that the labour cost forms for the period.

    Labour % = Labour Cost x 100 / Sales

The following information is displayed in the Detail tab for the Area*, Store, Period and Comparison Period selected using the filters Drop-down boxes that let you select from the options available. at the top of the page:

Click on the * Show Detailed View * and * Show Summary View * links in the top-left corner of the report to toggle between viewing only the percentage changes in the data, and viewing the data for both periods and the percentage changes, respectively.

  • Report Period: The period for which the report was generated.

  • Comparison Period: The previous period with which the data is compared.

  • From: The start of the time period for which the information is displayed.

  • To: The end of the time period for which the information is displayed.

  • Transactions:

    • Current*: The number of transactions recorded during the report period.

    • Previous*: The number of transactions recorded during the comparison period.

    • Trend: The percentage change in the number of transactions recorded.

      Transactions Trend = (Transactions Current - Transactions Previous) / Transactions Previous

  • Sales:

    • Current*: The sales recorded during the report period.

    • Previous*: The sales recorded during the comparison period.

    • Trend: The percentage change in the sales.

      Sales Trend = (Sales Current - Sales Previous) / Sales Previous

    • Where sales is Adjusted Gross or Net Sales, determined by the POS Period Sales Method.

  • Hours:

  • SPLH:

    • Current*: The sales per labour hour for the report period.

      SPLH Current = Sales Current / Hours Current

    • Previous*: The sales per labour hour for the comparison period.

      SPLH Previous = Sales Previous / Hours Previous

    • Trend: The percentage change in the sales per labour hour.

      SPLH Trend = (SPLH Current - SPLH Previous) / SPLH Previous

  • CPLH:

    • Current*: The customers serviced per labour hour for the report period.

      CPLH Current = Transactions Current / Hours Current

    • Previous*: The customers serviced per labour hour for the comparison period.

      CPLH Previous = Transactions Previous / Hours Previous

    • Trend: The percentage change in the customers serviced per labour hour.

      CPLH Trend = (CPLH Current - CPLH Previous) / CPLH Previous

  • Labour Cost: It is calculated using the wage rate paid to each employee that worked during the period, the number of hours worked by each employee during the period, and the type of time card clocked during the period.

    • Current*: The cost of the total number of clocked labour hours for the report period.

    • Previous*: The cost of the total number of clocked labour hours for the comparison period.

    • Trend: The percentage change in the cost of the total number of clocked labour hours.

      Labour Trend = (Labour Current - Labour Previous) / Labour Previous

  • Labour %:

    • Current*: The percentage of sales that the labour cost forms for the report period.

      Labour % Current = Labour Cost Current x 100 / Sales Current

    • Previous*: The percentage of sales that the labour cost forms for the comparison period.

      Labour % Previous = Labour Cost Previous x 100 / Sales Previous

    • Trend: The change in the percentage of sales that the labour cost forms.

      Labour % Trend = Labour % Current - Labour % Previous

Chart

The chart tab provides you with a visual comparison of the sales and labour cost for each part of the day for the Area*Store and Period selected.
